Mum Card with Label Wrapper....

Hi friends. Boy, did we have fun with that anonymous poster, huh? Thanks for backing me up and for all your nice comments. And you know what? That stupid comment made me really reflect on my life. I kept thinking to myself, *Geez, I'm a just a mom, lay off a little*. And then I thought *I. am. just. a. mom* What a beautiful thing to be. Just a mom. Just a wife. Just a friend. Just another person trying to make it one more day on this beautiful earth. One more ordinary day of my beautiful life. I wouldn't trade my life for anything. I wouldn't miss this crazy ride for nuthin! So if it means we eat cookie dough from a plastic tube, or that we have bologna sandwiches for supper sometimes just so we can sit around the table together....or that we eat hotdogs at the concession stand to support the school.....or that we have leftovers because it's a frugal thing to do.....or that I serve Doritos and gallons of pop to the girls' friends when they come over.....all that matters is that I see my little family smile and say *Mom, you're the best!* That. is. all. that. matters.to. me.

So. With that said, let's get down to crafty business, shall we? Sometimes you just want to do something a little different with your projects. Mix things up a bit. Experiment a little. Today I have a fun idea to show you using my Label Wraps from my Etsy shop.

The
Label Wraps are rectangle shaped pieces of thin paper that have adhesive on the back. Think of a giant sticker. They come 5 to a sheet and you just cut the labels apart when the divided lines are. You can stamp on them, do masking techniques, emboss, ect. For today's project, take one Label Wrapper and simply add rectangle pieces of ledger paper. I used a single arrow stamp to add some graphic fun then added *to* and *from* using an ink pen.
To attach to the envelope, peel the backing off the Label Wrap and adhere part of it to the front then wrap around the back of the envelope. Here you can see the front of my envelope with my pretty card made with Nichole's new Year of Flowers: Mums stamp set. The ledger paper on the envelope coordinates with the ledger paper I used as a background for my card.
And here you can see the back of my envelope which is where you can write your return address. Such a fun and unique way to dress up an envelope. The recipient will know it's a good mail day when they see this card coming their way. I also added an envelope liner using Papertrey's envelope liner die and Distressed Dots patterned paper. So fun!
For more fun using Label Wraps, check out this link. It has a continuous showing of all my blog posts using Label Wraps. Hope you enjoy!

Coming soon: There will be a very exciting holiday event happening here on my blog right after Thanksgiving. I am teaming up with a very special friend and crafter extraordinaire that you all love and adore. We've been working very hard behind the scenes to bring you a fun filled holiday season full of crafty goodness. Can you guess who my friend might be?

Doesn't matter who it is. Any "friend" of yours is going to be an inspiration to me. Extra thought: I eat Cool Whip too and use packaged cookie mix to make cookies. My family doesn't know any other way and to them, that's home made!

Don't usually post but wanted to give "my" Mish Mash a little support I love your papercrafting, your recipes and your vintage style. Thanks for all you do and all you share.

I have no idea who, but I do know this, it will be WONDERFUL!

Hi, Love your card. All of your projects are great! And, I agree with you. Spending time with your family always comes first. And who doesn't like cookie dough out of the package. Isn't it the thought that counts. You are an amazing woman, very talented and you have a great sense of humor. Thank you for sharing with us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I am going to guess Melissa Phillips. And I can't wait to see what you have in store for us!

I am sure anyone you team up with is great crafting inspiration for us, but I'm hoping it is Melissa Phillips and that the two of you go all out with paper bag pouches, tags and holiday houses.

Gosh, I don't know WHO to guess! Whoever it is, it will be a fabulous duo! Can't wait to see your Holiday inspirations! These items today are happy crafts - they make me happy!!! Love them, and Mish, I love that you share your 'how-to' deets, even though you are placing them for sale on Etsy. I haven't had the opportunity to case any of your projects yet, but how sweet that you share with us. As for anonymous, bet he/she will think twice before leaving any nasty comments!!! I had a jerk leaving comments a year or so back that hurt me so badly that I nearly stopped creating and blogging. Decided that would hurt me more than the anonymous comments did, and that they were not going to keep me from doing what I love! Hugs and blessings to you sweetie! By the way, you're not 'just' a mom, you are supermom!

How sad to be such a miserable person to leave a comment like that. I always tell my children to feel sorry for those people, because they are so unhappy inside. Too, I feel anything you put together in your home IS "homemade". I love your blog, so keep up the good work from one domestic diva to another:)!

I don't know who it is but I can't wait!!! I just love coming to your blog for my next dose of inspiration.
Cool Whip is a necessity at Thanksgiving. Cookie dough is a regular on our shopping list, as well as, oreos and dorritos. Nacho flavored doritos are the favorite at our house. They are called "red chips". Oreos are called "Daddy cookies".

I think your crafty friend might be Heather Nichols. Cannot wait to see what you have in store for us. Love, love, love your blog and I check it every day and sometimes more than once or twice! Keep up your crafty goodness and thanks for everything you do!

Since I'm not much on shopping, I'll be around all weekend after Thanksgiving! Can't wait to see what you have planned. I'd be happy with any of your crafty friends, but I'd be super excited if it were Pine or Dawn!

Being just a mom is one of the most wonderful things about life. Taking care of our little families make every single day extra special. We love you and thank you for sharing your talent with us each day. Checking your blog is one of my favorite things to do each day as I enjoy my coffee.

Can't wait to see what you have in store for us. My word, I'm not sure who your teaming up with but I'm guessing maybe Dawn or Piney. I do know that whoever it is, it will be fabulous!

My guess would be Dawn McVey ... you two are soul sisters! Can't wait!
Hey, just want you to know how much I love your blog ... I'm 'just a mom too' and often it's been a rough road! For many, your identity and your 'job' go hand in hand and being
'just a mom' often doesn't hold a lot of weight! I too, am very happy with my life...well it's lunchtime here, better get that frozen pizza in the oven!!!!!! Hugs!

Hi there! I can't wait to see what you come up with no matter who your crafty buddy is! I kind of hope it is Malissa or Betsy though! I love them too. It could even be your little "red", she is a pretty crafty girl too! Wouldn't that be fun????!! Can't wait.

I love you outlook on life, one of the reasons I love to follow your blog. Oh, and the great creativity of course!

I would love to see Dawn McVey working with you, that would be an amazing team up.

I can't wait for the surprise visitor and all the crafty goodness that will be oozing from your blog. I love your blog. Just ignore the rude person. Being just a mom is the most important role you will ever have and the most rewarding. I make the peanut butter cookies with reeses and have never thought of using the refrigerated dough. Betty usually helps me out in package form. I may have to switch to the refrigerated dough. I am also going to add sprinkles to the cookies from now on!!! Her rudeness reminded me of a story from when my son was in kindergarten and it was his turn for snack. I was so excited to bake cookies for his class and he wanted to take oreos!!!! He won.

I am guessing Dawn, but maybe we will all be completely surprised??? And Mish, I am "just.a.mom." too- and PROUD to have 5 children! You? A domestic "diva"? No way! "Domestic GODDESS" is more like it, hee hee! WE LOVE YOU!

I am going with Heather first, then Dawn. Would love to see you team up with Debbie Olsen also!! Have to have a fix of Mish Mash every day!!

I am so excited to see what you have up your sleeve. I just know I am going to love it, b/c I love everything you do!

All it takes is one negative person to screw up a day. A very kind older lady told me one day at work, (I am a nurse) "Baby, don't let nobody steal your joy." I think you are amazing. I take short cuts too, tonight, we reheated precooked chicken! Nanner nanner nanner! Take care Mish, and keep up the good job!

My guess would be Dawn Mcvey because she rocks and lives relatively close to you. I agree, you spend so much time with your girls supporting their activities and making wonderful little gifties for their friends anyone who has to find fault should be ashamed of themselves. Thanks for sharing your craft and your life with us. Hugs Ann Lind
